Beginner Watercolor Class with Jan | February 10, 2026 11-2PM

TIME: 11:00am-2:00pm

*ALL SUPPLIES PROVIDED! All levels Welcomed!

We will start by examining essential materials, including various types of paint, paper textures,

and brush styles, to understand how each component influences the artistic process.

Through a series of engaging exercises, students will create several small paintings, allowing

them to experiment and apply four core painting techniques:

1. Flat Wash – Participants will learn to apply a uniform layer of paint, mastering

consistency and application for a smooth, even surface.

2. Graded Wash – This technique focuses on creating a gradual transition between colors,

helping students develop skills in blending and color mixing.

3. Dry Brush – Using a minimal amount of paint, students will explore texture and detail,

discovering how to enhance their artwork with subtle brushwork.

4. Wet on Wet – This dynamic technique involves applying wet paint onto a wet surface,

encouraging spontaneity and creativity as colors blend in unexpected ways.

By the end of the class, students will have a well-rounded understanding of these techniques and

the confidence to express themselves through their paintings. Whether you’re a beginner or

looking to refine your skills, this class will spark your creativity and deepen your appreciation for

the art of painting.
