Watercolor Color Theory with Jan Foulk | February 17, 2026 11AM-2PM

*ALL SUPPLIES PROVIDED! All levels Welcomed!

Whether you’re a beginner eager to explore the world of watercolor or an advanced artist looking

to refine your craft, this class offers valuable insights and techniques for everyone.

We will kick off the class with a comprehensive introduction to color theory. Participants will

learn about the relationships between colors, including complementary, analogous, and triadic

color schemes. Understanding how colors work together is crucial for creating harmonious and

captivating artworks, and this foundational knowledge will set the stage for our hands-on

practice.

Throughout the class, we will dive into a range of watercolor techniques commonly used by

professional artists. From washes and gradients to splattering and wet-on-dry application, each

technique will be thoroughly explained and demonstrated. As we explore these methods,

students will have the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned to create a series of small

sketches.

These sketches will serve not only as practice but as a unique portfolio of your journey through

the diverse world of watercolor painting. By the end of the class, you will have a deeper

understanding of color interactions and a collection of artworks that showcase your newly

acquired skills.

Prepare to be inspired and amazed by what you can create, as you develop your personal style

and artistic voice through this engaging watercolor experience!
