This is an oil painting workshop that will teach students to paint a sunrise/sunset over the ocean.  The subject matter will be the beautiful light reflected on the sky, clouds, and water, and the transitions in color that occur.  Foundational principles of drawing, design, color, and value will be discussed and applied to the class painting.  We will also review atmospheric and linear perspective and their importance in creating dimension in paintings.  This class is for all levels.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do NOT bring any products with a strong odor… especially mineral spirits, solvent, or turpentine.

Small jar (solvent will be provided and your jar will be your container)

2 – 11 x 14 canvases (you are encouraged to paint at whatever speed you are comfortable, but two paintings will be offered)
