About Julie Wende

Julie Wende has taught portraiture and figure painting in the Fort Worth area, and is a member of the Trinity Arts Guild, Texas Arts Coalition and Lake Granbury Art Association, and currently has work accepted into the Laguna Plein Aire Arts Association SMALL WORKS show (online) and recently American Impressionist Society Show in St. George, Utah in October.

“My passion began with doodling in the margin of my schoolwork. I loved getting attention for the drawings I did, and that recognition still fuels my desire to create. So many artists have come before me but I admire a simple narrative, in the example of Edward Hopper, Winslow Homer or Fairfield Porter. I worked in animation and as an illustrator throughout the 90’s, and have two children’s books (one published, one in the pipeline).”
